Easy Fall Decorating Ideas

With the recent heatwaves and typical summer weather in South Carolina, fall may seem a long time away. However, it will arrive and when it does, you can be ready to welcome the season with some new decorations for your Moncks Corner SC homes. From pillows to paint jobs, small changes and additions can make a real impact and get you in the mood for this cozy season.

Small half bathrooms are a fantastic place to play around with design. Because of their size and their minimal use, they’re a great place to be bolder with your colors and patterns. Go with darker shades of green or blue-green on the walls for a real impact, perhaps paired with earth tones in the towels or amber-colored countertop accessories.

Plenty of people add a (faux) sheepskin to their autumn decor, but instead of using it on the floor, try draping it over dining chairs or other single chairs to make them more cozy and inviting.

Along the same lines, add some texture to sofas or beds with fuzzy or furry throw pillows and blankets. If even faux fur isn’t your thing, look for textured knits in rich, dark berry tones or other complementary autumn colors.

In your entryway or on a mantel, make a statement with a colorful vase and an arrangement of dried florals or dried branches with leaves. A tall, slender vase in jewel or warm earth tones, paired with an arrangement of slender branches and leaves is the perfect addition for foyers or empty corners in a room.

For a larger seasonal statement, consider purchasing a raw wood coffee table or side tables. Their organic shapes and typically high gloss really add an impressive yet elegant aspect to a living room.

Another option to create a real sense of change in a room is to switch out the accent colors. For example, look for autumn-colored rugs and throw pillows that still complement your rooms, but create a new fall look. Even switching out floor mats and towels in kitchens and bathrooms can breathe new life into a room. If you usually stick with solids or geometrics, consider a more elaborate or organic print.

If you have a fireplace, make it more of a focal point with attractive boxes and baskets that hold firewood. Even if you don’t use the fireplace that often, add an array of candles in different heights and thicknesses, arranged on a warm-colored tray to give you that cozy feeling without the work needed to start a fire.

Finally, add more lamps with warm bases and deep, rich colors in the shades. Make sure your bulbs are all warm tones, and add in both table and floor lamps to create a cozy atmosphere. Just make sure the lights are strong enough for reading, knitting, sewing, or any other hobbies you may enjoy. Consider lamps with light level adjustments to fit every light need.

These are some simple and elegant ways to bring a touch of fall into your Moncks Corner SC homes, without  going overboard or as obvious as gourds. Save the pumpkins for Halloween or use them to make your front porch more autumnal and welcoming. No matter what you choose, a few small changes can make a big difference.
